i gotta get outta here

My Cubicle

i realized something during this spoof...

i'm not doing what i feel i'm cut out for (that's not what i realized... i realized that a while ago. i'm working towards that right now.)

but what i DID realize is that i really don't feel like trying when i know i'm just doing something temporary.

most times, i really could care less if i get a 3 or 2 on my next review.

why should i care? i'm only there until i finish school anyway.

i hope to look back on this time in my life someday and think, "man... i'm glad i didn't do that forever."

and this little video proves to me beyond a shadow of a doubt... it reinforces what i already know...

the big yellow will not steal my soul.
i will get out.
i will make a difference.
i won't work somewhere that doesn't have an impact.

i will get out.

I know it sounds a little cliche, but I've been feeling more and more convicted that about the Bible calling us to do everything as if we were doing it for Christ. Yah, your job may not be what you really want to do in life, but one of the best ways to witness to your supervisor is to be the best employee they have. I wish Christians were known for being the best employees to hire and that I could put "Christian" down on my application and that would boost my chances of getting the job. But I struggle with the same thing. I have a hard time working at things I'm not passionate about because that's not very easy.

this is exactly what pastor king said at church this weekend...

i think his exact words, yelled at the top of his english lungs, went something like, "YOU DO NOT WORK FOR CATERPILLAR, YOU WORK FOR JESUS CHRIST! YOU DO NOT WORK FOR OSF SAINT FRANCIS, YOU WORK FOR JESUS CHRIST!"

he was speaking directly to me, and this post actually came from hearing that.

i just realized that i completely ruined your moment on Sunday.

sorry that i was a selfish loser, only thinking about how what was said affected ME.

i'm so glad that God used sunday's service to speak to you.

and i'm so glad God used Pastor King to speak to you.

and i'm sure God will use other things/moments/people to speak to you, besides Pastor King. If He didn't, that would just be RIDICULOUS!
